Print some photos and head to your happy place!
Do you print photos with the good intention of scrapbooking them – they tell such a great story and you know you need to capture it but then you run out of time? The photo I have chosen for this scrapbook page tells so many stories in just one dreadful selfie! I printed it in August and put in on my desk to scrap and then it got covered in other items – I’m sure you know what I mean! However, tidying up last week it resurfaced.
Let me tell you the story. It was Emily’s Results Day for her A Levels. She needed to collect them in person from her school and Simon and I, her loving parents, agreed to accompany her. I was messaging our other daughter who was away and so was holding my phone and saw this selfie opportunity. It wasn’t planned at all and it makes me laugh so much. Simon and I look a bit giddy – our nervousness for Emily and Emily just looks plain sick.
Grab your photo and have a go
I really enjoyed putting this page together – probably as the day turned out ok – and this photo just makes me laugh! I decided to keep it quite simple and looked at the photo to determine the colours to use. The Bird Ballad patterned paper seemed perfect to me but I’m running a bit low! This design uses up your scraps but still enhances the photo.
What I used to create this page
I also reached for the Capture the good stamp set using two of the sentiments – “the focus is all on you” and also “smile”. I used my new favourite dies, Stitched So Sweetly, for the “smile” sentiment – cutting off the sides to pair it back. The camera is from a retired stamp set called Snapshot which I couldn’t bear to part with.
I picked out Petal Pink, So Saffron, Pool Party and Calypso Coral as they worked for the photo and patterned paper. The hearts are die cut with the Be Mine Stitched dies. “Results” is die cut with the Hand Lettered Prose dies.
Go on, have a tidy up and see what photos you have printed waiting to reveal their story! Let me know how you get on.
Here are the materials I used, Stampin’ Up are open for business so please stock up on the supplies you need:
