A quick treat for a poorly friend using Back On Your Feet
One of my lovely friends has been poorly for a while and so I thought a card and treat might be just what she needs to lift her spirits. Have you seen the new stamp set called Back on Your Feet, P83 of the catalogue? It is so cute! Whilst out shopping I picked up a sweet little boxes of chocolates which dictated the colours for the card – Pool Party and Lovely Lipstick.
How to make the card and tag
I tried two different techniques for the background on the card and tag. The Pool Party background on the card is a watercolour wash using an aqua painter whilst on the tag I used the dark Pool Party blend. Which technique do you prefer? Another difference is that the sloth on the card is fussy cut and raised up on dimensionals whilst the on the tag I stamped the sloth directly onto the tag and then coloured around it with the Pool Party blend.
However, I coloured them both in using the following colours. Light and dark Smokey Slate blends for the sloth, the bandage is coloured in with a Lovely Lipstick blend whilst the branch is coloured with Soft Suede and the leaves are coloured with Old Olive.
Have you spotted the top of the tag – I’ve used the new Delightful Tag Topper punch. Can’t wait to use this one more. I’ve tied the 5/8″ flax ribbon on the tag.
For the card I used a stitched rectangle die and stamped the sentiment before adding the Pool Party colour wash. The sloth on the branch was then added with dimensionals.
Fingers crossed it cheers up her day and puts her back on the road to recovery.
