Fable Friends, Perennial Birthday and the Stitched Rectangle dies – the perfect combination!
My beautiful daughter, Rachel, is 21 today! 21 I know, how old does that make me feel! And she still loves cute bunnies so although this isn’t a typical 21st birthday card hopefully she’ll love it! The Fable Friends stamp set is so easy to use and isn’t just for Easter! You could of course fussy cut the bunny out but I went for an easier solution and stamped onto one of my favourite Stitched Rectangle diecuts.
How to make the card
The bunny is stamped in mememto ink and coloured in using Blends. The colours I used were Crumb Cake light and dark for the fur and then Petal Pink dark for the inside of the ears. For the jacket I used a combination of Daffodil Delight with Flirty Flamingo. I also liberally used the Colour Lifter to add some depth to my colouring.
The bonnet is some little flowers punched from Flirty Flamingo, So Saffon and Petal Pink. I’ve used a retired punch but realise I could have used one of the pretty flower dies from the Well Written set instead! I scrunched the flower up a bit to breakdown the paper fibres so they would agree to how I wanted to position them! I also added some Pear Pizzazz leaves to balance out the colours and pearls for the centre of the flowers.
It is always important for me to ground my images. For this one I added some grass in Pear Pizzazz ink. The mount for the image is So Saffron which lifts the colours. And the final part is to stamp the sentiment – Happy Birthday from the Perennial Birthday stamp set in Flirty Flamingo. I really like the font and size of this Happy Birthday and keep using it!
I’m so pleased with the colour combination – it is one that makes me feel happy and ready for summer! Here is what you need to make the card yourself.
