Quirky and cute treat package with Tunnocks tea cake

Does it look like an ice cream cone?

So I thought this really looked like an ice cream cone but the ice cream is a Tunnocks tea cake and the inside of the cone is filled with sweeties – does that sound good to you?  However, on showing my family they quickly made sure I realised I was completely wrong!  The statement, When have you seen a blue ice cream cone was stated very loudly!  Oh well, even if it doesn’t look like an ice cream at all I hope you like it!

tunnocks tea cake, sweetie treat, A good treat

I really like to spoil my class attendees with a table favour for their place at class.  This one is a double whammy!  They get a tempting Tunnocks tea cake to have with their tea or coffee and the inside of the cup is filled with sweeties to nibble on when they need a sugar boost.  I like to make them work very hard – no chatty or fun allowed at any point!

Poppy Parade paired with Night of Navy

To match in with the red of the tea cake I choose Poppy Parade and blue, well Night of Navy to be precise, seemed the obvious choice to cover base of the cup, at least to me!  Apparently I should have chosen crumb cake to be more realistic!  (The cups are espresso cups I bought in bulk a while ago online).   To cover the cups I made a template from photocopy paper.  The paper is from the Happiness Blooms set, it will be retiring at the end of this month so make sure you stock up!

The stamped image is from A Good Day stamp set.  This set is really cute and I’ve used it loads on treat packages.  I’m really sad it is retiring at the end of the month.  It coordinates beautifully with the 1 1/8″ and 1 3/8″ scallop circle punches.  The tea cake is gently stuck to the lid with Tear & Tape.

Add a tie of Polka dot ribbon around the middle before popping the image up on dimensionals.  Now the only choice is what to fill the inside with – jelly beans or raspberry bonbons?
