It is such a treat to join in the Global Design Project #GDP 184 – Case the Designer
Here is the card we are casing (CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit) the card below from Allison in Canada. Sometimes when you CASE a card it is difficult to see the original but I think mine sticks quite closely to her design features!

And here is my entry
The butterfly wings led to me to pull down the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set. I haven’t used it in a while and it was feeling neglected. I stamped it in versamark ink on Whisper White and heat embossed with copper embossing powder. I hoped to give it an ethereal quality! It would be quite easy to fussy cut but as I own the dies I ran it through the bigshot to cut it out.
Stock up on the Wood Textures patterned paper
For the background I used a couple of sheets of the Wood Textures patterned paper. This carried through from last year’s catalogue so I’m sure it would be a good time to stock up before June as it is unlikely to stay current for another year! To be frugal I die cut the circular embellishment from the middle of the bottom layer – I was careful to make sure it was in the middle so no one would ever know!
Find the perfect sentiment for your occasion
The sentiment is from the Flowering Desert stamp set, “be your own kind of beautiful”. Again I embossed it with copper embossing powder. Once you’ve invested in a heat gun and a versamark ink pad you need to emboss everything in sight as it is so pretty! You can emboss by holding the paper over your toaster but a heat gun makes it a bit simpler! One of my customers has used a paint stripper as an interim method but you need to be really careful to avoid burning the paper and yourself as they are a bit powerful for embossing!
Keeping to the original design the image it is framed on a circular embellishment, a die from the Wonderful Floral set, and double mounted with the Wood Textures patterned paper. I hope you can see how the original card influenced me and I hope you like it!
