A simple but gorgeous frame for your home
One of the perks of being a Stampin’ Up Demonstrator is receiving the quarterly magazine Stampin’ Success . It is great resource for ideas and when I saw a similar frame to this hiding near the back of the magazine I knew I wanted to CASE it (Copy and Share Everything).
How to make your frame
Start with an 8″ square box frame. Add a piece of the Floral Romance paper cut to 7 7/8″ by 7 7/8″. There are two leafy patterns in the pack- one is darker with Mossy Meadow as the base, which I’ve used here and the other slightly lighter with Pear Pizzazz. I’ve used the Pear Pizzazz on my second frame! I liked it so much I had to make two!
The Butterfly Beauty die is beautiful but you need to take time to push out all the little bits – not one to use when you are in a hurry! I found it easiest to cut my A4 Whisper White paper into quarters and use the precision plate on the Big Shot to get a perfect cut. You then need to patiently use your paper piercer and pop out all the pieces. Lay the butterflies over your patterned paper to create the butterfly layer sticking it down with mini dimensionals. (If you know where your photo is going to be placed then you don’t need to fill that area.) For these frames I needed 4 butterfly dies.
Take 2 – using the softer colour palette
The photo is 4″ by 6″ and although both of mine are portrait a landscape photo works just as well. A double mount of Petal Pink with either Pear Pizzazz or Mossy Meadow lift the photo.
A stamped sentiment adds so much to the look. I couldn’t resist using the Nine Lives stamp set for my cat, Daisy. The sentiment I chose is ” TRUE LOVE has four paws”. Emily has a Sale-a-bration sentiment, ” So glad you are part of my story” and as I had a spare butterfly sitting on my desk I sponged it with Petal Pink ink and added it to the corner! Add a piece of Petal Pink variegated ribbon as a highlight under your sentiment to tie it all together.
The original I CASEd was a wedding photo so I think this will work with any gorgeous photo! Here are the products you need linked to my online shop. Please say if you’d like any more information to make your frame.
