New Home or Home Renovation Scrapbook double page layout
I’m always attracted to ornaments shaped as houses. We have a cupboard that looks like a house and a lamp that looks like a house as well! So it wasn’t surprising I was instantly attracted to the Pop on By set that has two different houses in it. Be ware the dies and the stamp set are different sizes.
Make sure you add some journaling!
The layout has space for four 4″ by 6″ landscape photos but you could easily use three instead and use the last space for journaling. Alternatively you can pop your journaling under one of your photos. However, do make yourself journal (I say this to my crop attendees all the time)! I know it is hard and you probably don’t like your handwriting but it really is so important and makes the scrapbook so much more than some pretty pages. Capture the memories!
Gorgeous patterned paper sets the page off
The page combines the use of the gorgeous Needlepoint Nook patterned paper and matching stamp set with the focal image of the house on the right.
The house is coloured with Blends, 2 coats of light Balmy Blue for the paint work with the roof in Bronze, the lintels and door frame are dark Balmy Blue and the front door in light Old Olive. For the windows stamp the curtain image on patterned paper then add a vellum window on top. Use stazon to stamp on the vellum and remember to give it a moment to dry.
Tie Old Olive linen thread through the mini buttons, it is a bit tricky to do but worth the effort in the end. Use glue dots to add to the centre of the flowers. And have you spotted the sentiment – soppy but so right for this layout – ” Home is wherever you are”. Stampin’ Up has definitely made me more soppy! The flowers are stamped in Crushed Curry, Poppy Parade and Balmy Blue ink and are from the Needle & Thread stamp set. You need a light touch with these images to ensure you see all the detail.
There are two of the new Rectangle Stitched dies (my new favourite) on the page. One in Old Olive cardstock and the other in Poppy Parade. Both also have the large needlepoint flower embellishment impressed into them. There is really a lot of detail on this layout – sorry! I got a bit carried away!
I hope you enjoy adding our photos and journaling to this layout. All the products you need to create the layout are listed below with a link to my shop.
