I try to be really organised with buying Birthday presents, having the card ready (obviously handmade) and popping them in the post but sometimes it doesn’t quite go to plan! January has been racing by and last week I had two important birthdays to celebrate. Somehow, I’d forgotten to make the birthday cards……
Luckily, I still had the remains of the Happiness Blooms suite on my desk from Scrapbook Sunday and it inspired me to quickly make some beautiful cards and look organised after all! Quick and easy can be just as beautiful – hope you agree!
Card number one was for my sister. I love the Happiness Blooms patterns so flicked through my remaining Memories and More cards until I found the perfect design. Mounted on some Lovely Lipstick cardstock and accessorised with some flowers from the sticker pack it was nearly finished. A couple of matching enamel dots for the flower centres and it was complete. I was so pleased with it I made another for my stock of cards!
The second card was for my teenage godson. A male card eeekkk! Always a bit of a stumbling block for me but I decided to flick through the Memories and More cards again. He likes blue and green and which was easy with this pack. Keeping it very simple – no soppy sentiments needed, I die cut Happy Birthday with the Well Written framelits. By adding Adhesive sheet to the back of my Whisper White cardstock before die cutting them they turned into stickers so were simple to stick down. I also die cut a Rectangle Stitched Framelit to mount the Happy Birthday on and it was complete. A clean and simple card in a matter of minutes! In case you haven’t spotted the new Rectangle Stitched Framelit dies they are on P28 of the Seasonal catalogue – you could easily miss them but don’t! They are my new favourite die!
Fingers crossed they got there in time! Note to self: look ahead to February now and make my list of cards to make!
